The 1963 Christmas stamp featured the 'The Holy Family with a Shepherd' by Titian. Although only one shepherd is shown in adoration, the subject of this painting is probably a variation on the Adoration of the Shepherds.

The stamp was larger than previous years to capture more detail. The complete painting was reproduced.
