Some catalogues include stamps from the 2004 Scenic Definitives and 2007 Scenic Definitives under this issue as they were all designed in the same style.

A limited edition set of gummed stamps with the New Zealand Post frond logo silver foiled were produced and sold in complete numbered sheets. On all values the silver foil matches and overlays the black printing on the regular issue stamps (in the sample shown above the foiling is offset slightly). An initial printing of the 50 cent stamp with a solid rather than segmented silver frond (556a2) was distributed in error and subsequently recalled for replacement.
